It looks like William Shatner still believes he is set to stun when it comes to the ladies.

For the Star Trek legend was pictured getting a bit fruity with Extra presenter Maria Menounos before an interview in Hollywood today.

And the cheeky octogenarian even leaned in for a cheeky kiss as he took advantage of the television host's friendly demeanour.

Most people at the age of 81 would be more interested in a sitting down with a cup of tea and a newspaper than dancing with a woman more than half his age.

But the old glint was still in William's eye as he grabbed the 33-year-old and gave her a twirl.

The actor was meant to be promoting Get A Life, a book in which he examines the phenomenon of Trekkies, Trekkers and their numerous conventions.

However that seemed far from his mind as he took the opportunity to run his hands around the toned presenter's body as they shared a few dance steps.

Perhaps the Canadian star has even more in common with his famous character Captain than meets the eye.

The Starfleet officer was noted for his lengthy list of conquests, particularly on the original television series.

Fans even made a video called Kirk is a Womanizer, which splices his numerous dalliances with the Britney Spears song.

GCB star David James Elliot also stopped by for a chat, in which he talked about his work for A Better LA.

He also got handy with the presenter, though her preferred to use her as a dummy to demonstrate martial arts moves.

No doubt she missed William after he got her in a particularly tight choke hold.

Maria Menounos appeared to be enjoying the view during a rehearsal session with a shirtless Derek Hough today.

The Extra TV presenter was spotted shooting admiring glances at the blond hunk as they stepped outside the West Hollywood dance stuido for a breather.

Just a short while later, Maria, 33, was pictured heading out for lunch with fellow Dancing With The Stars contestants Katherine Jenkins - who is rumoured to be more than just friends with Hough.

Despite his close appearance with dance partner Maria, the 26-year-old has been seen cosying up to Welsh opera singer Katherine, 31, on a number of occasions - and a source told the Sunday Mirror that her is 'smitten' with her.

'Derek is single and would like to date Katherine, but she wants to take things slowly as she only recently ended her engagement,' the insider said.

'They are hanging out all the time and are already close friends.'

Maria and Katherine are often spotted out together when the cameras aren’t rolling, with the competitors regularly joining their professional partners Mark Ballas and Derek for nights out.

The ladies were seen stepping out of the dance studio in West Hollywood following a weekend of intense practice and headed straight out to lunch together.

The group hopped into Derek's car before taking off to eat at a nearby restaurant.

Wearing their comfortable exercise clothing, Menounos and Jenkins still managed to look good in loose tops and tight fitting leggings.

While the classical singer kept her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail, a fresh-faced Maria let her brunette locks hang out.

Sporting supportive flesh coloured socks, due to a foot injury, the television presenter seems to be making a speedy recovery.

After being told that she should avoid putting pressure on the area last week, she was seen almost bursting into tears during a DWTS VT last Monday.

As a result Hough toted her around on his back much of the time.

Maria Menounos has been training hard on Dancing With The Stars, and it shows.

The 33-year-old talk show host revealed the results of countless sessions practising for her ABC reality show.

She flaunted her washboard stomach in black and turquoise striped workout gear while hosting her TV show, Extra, today in Los Angeles.

The Greek-American beauty demonstrated how she goes from hosting the programme to dance practise this morning at The Grove.

She stripped off a V-necked maroon jumper to reveal her sexy stomach underneath.

In between takes she sipped at a glass of milk, which might be a bid to strengthen her bones.

She is currently suffering from various injuries, though she has been battling through the pain for the sake of the show.

She has two cracked ribs and injured both feet; one foot is now fractured.

Still, she tells the Boston Herald that she's been feeling stronger lately.

Menounos said: 'I've been taking care of myself and I think it's working. I have two bone stimulators that are electrodes attached to my feet 24/7.

'And [dance partner Derek Hough] has this holistic-healer guy that is literally making vitamins for me with the highest calcium I can take.'

The set of her show has also been reworked so that she stands very little while on-air.

She also wears comfortable footwear like the black Uggs she wore on the show today.

The stunner also drives around the outdoor LA set in a golf cart to avoid putting stress on her injury.

She said: 'I don't walk at all except for the six hours I'm dancing -- in sneakers. So all these things are making a difference and, of course, Derek is giving me piggy back rides everywhere.

'He has strong legs.'
