Kylie Minogue and Stevie Wonder will join the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John to perform for the Queen at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, the BBC has announced.

The 43-year-old Australian pop star has been added to the line-up for the show, which takes place outside Buckingham Palace in June, as organisers try to make sure the concert has talent from around the Commonwealth.

US acts are also being signed up as it was also revealed that US soul legend Stevie Wonder will also play at the June 4 event, which is being broadcast by the BBC.

The show - a celebration of the Queen’s 60-year reign - will also be attended by The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family.

Kylie - who has previously performed for Prince Charles - said: ‘I’m honoured to be invited to perform at the Diamond Jubilee Concert.

‘To share the stage in front of Buckingham Palace with music legends including Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones and Elton John in celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is very exciting.’

Wonder’s addition has led to speculation that he will perform his worldwide hit Happy Birthday at the show, taking place on the Queen’s official birthday.

He said: ‘It’s an honour to celebrate The Queen. It’s an honour to celebrate Great Britain. The time is overdue that I meet Her Majesty.’ Many of the other performers - including Sir Paul, Sir Tom Jones and Sir Elton - were announced three weeks ago.
