Before One Direction took the world by storm, an American group called Big Time Rush was one of the biggest names in the boy band world.
The story of the misadventures of four buff hockey players from Minnesota, is the highest-rated live-action series debut on Nickelodeon ever and they have sold thousands of records.
And it's no wonder why, the male stars showed just how handsome they are as they hit the beach in Maui, Hawaii yesterday.

Shirtless to play some volleyball in the sun, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson all showed off their rippling muscles as they worked up a sweat.
Logan, 22, also seemed to be getting to grip with a bikini-clad babe as he splash around the water.
Meanwhile Carlos Pena Jr, also 22, displayed his impressive physique in a pair of turquoise boardshorts as he went head-to-head with an equally fit Kendall.

The television show was created by Scott Fellows, and is about the Hollywood misadventures of four hockey players from Minnesota who form a band.
The series premiered with an hour-long pilot episode, titled Big Time Audition, in 2009.
In the episode, with dreams of becoming a pop star, James' character goes before a record producer to audition for a singing role.

He is accompanied by his three hockey player friends during the nerve-racking ordeal, and by twist of fate they all end up auditioning.
After the record producer turns James down, Kendall is angered and through song he jumps up on a table and sets off in a tirade.
So impressed with Kendall's vocal abilities, the producer asks Kendall to go to Los Angeles, but he refuses to go without the rest of the boys, who he suggests should along with himself, join a boy band.
When the episode aired officially, it drew in a whopping 6.8 million viewers, making it the highest rating show on the network.

The series is currently in its third season and began filming in April.
It will premiere later this year.
Big Time Rush also have released several albums with similar success.
Their debut self-titled album BTR was released in 2010, and gained the number three slot on the Billboard chart and sold over 500,000 copies.
They also released an second album titled Elevate last November with similar success.

The group are so huge in the US, that One Direction was once their support act on a ten-date tour earlier this year.
One Direction star Harry Styles was also rumoured to be dating 19-year-old American singer Lily Halpern, a Boston teenager who has also supported the likes of Big Time Rush, Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance.
While the New York Post claimed 'they've been seeing each other for a few months', and Lily was seen leaving Harry's hotel room in the Big Apple last month, the band's spokesperson denied the claim
