With the influence he has and how well respected he seems to be, Brad Pitt may as well be the mayor of New Orleans.
After seeing all the good the 48-year-old actor has done in the ravaged Louisiana city, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres couldn't resist showering him with compliments.
While paying the Oscar nominee a visit in the Ninth Ward, Degeneres praised and applauded his efforts with the Make It Right organisation, which builds sustainable and affordable homes for working families.
Brad gets bashful: Brad Pitt gets embarrassed after being complimented by Ellen DeGeneres
The Moneyball star got bashful and brushed off Ellen's praise.
He said: 'I’m getting far too much credit for this. This took a lot of very smart people coming in and attacking the situation. It took the families determined to come back [after Hurricane Katrina] and their resilience and they’re defining what this thing was going to be.
'I get far too much credit for bringing some really smart people together.'

But while Brad does acknowledge that his influence has drawn attention to New Orleans, it's clear just how much its residents respect him.
He calls out to people by name and even jokes around with one woman, who says she hasn't seen the actor 'around much' lately.
Though he is very humble when he says that he's now built 74 homes in the area, he can't resist bragging about how his own love of homes has inspired one of his kids.
