He has been known as the 'Muscles from Brussels' when he burst onto the action movie scene in the early Nineties.

But twenty years later, at the age of 51, Jean Claude Van Damme proved that he is a fit as he was in his 30s.

The Belgian actor was snapped taking off his shirt as he changed into a black T-shirt in the car park of a hotel in Monaco this weekend.

And he looked as good as he did in 1992 when he made his name - and was given his unique nickname - in his most famous film Universal Soldier.

He was joined by his wife Gladys and his mother and father Eliana and Eugene Van Varenberg as they checked into the Hotel de Paris.

And ever the gentleman, he gallantly carried and pulled his elderly mother's red suitcase from the car to the hotel.

His fit physique was matched by his 54-year-old wife who looked much younger than her years as she carried their toy dog around.

... and pulls it along effortlessly to the hotel showing off his muscular arms

Gladys, who is a bodybuilder and fitness competitor, and Van Damme have been married twice - one in 1987 but they divorced in 1992.

But five years later, the couple, who have two children Kristopher, 25, and 22-year-old Bianca, were reunited and tied the knot again in 1999.

It's little wonder that Jean Claude is in such fine form as he is still very much in the action movie business and this year has three big films coming out.
He is making a sequel to his 1992 smash called Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, which is due out later this year.

He has also joined the line-up for The Expendables 2, which is released in August and also stars Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.
Van Damme is also the lead in a upcoming thriller called Six Bullets, released in July.
