They were the image of prim, proper and polished when they hit the red-carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party just over a week ago in their corresponding navy outfits.

But inside the bash, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes let their hair down and showed off their goofy side.

In new pictures seen on Vanityfair.com and taken inside a photo booth at the star-studded event, the duo are seen pulling animated faces and puckering up fish lips to lean in for a kiss.

The 49-year-old Top Gun star looks adoringly at his wife of five years and puts an affectionate arm around her, while Katie pulls a very animated face.

The two snaps show a fun side of the couple, who while often affectionate, rarely ham it up for the camera.
The duo, who are both doting parents to their six-year-old daughter Suri, were clearly enjoying a night off parental duties.

Upon entering the party earlier, Katie wowed onlookers as she debuted a brand new sleek look including her polished new fringe.

The 33-year-old actress looked stylish in a navy blue Elie Saab embellished gown as she posed up with her spouse on the red carpet outside the event in West Hollywood, California.

Katie showed off her new look by wearing her hair tied back in a high ponytail, and accessorised her dress with a pretty diamond necklace and matching earrings.

The mother-of-one looked in good spirits as she posed for photographers, despite the fact it was announced earlier in the day that she had been nominated for Worst Supporting Actress at this year's Razzie Awards for her role in Adam Sandler's Jack & Jill.

Tom, meanwhile, looked smart in his navy blue suit after having presented the Best Picture award to The Artist at the Academy Awards ceremony earlier in the evening.

And Katie had obviously worked hard to look good, knowing she'd be seen by the world as she walked the carpet.

The actress was spotted on several occasions making her way to her local gym to put in extra hours toning up for her appearance.

No need for make-up when you're dancing: Katie Holmes looks fresh-faced as she prepares for another workout

While some celebrities cannot bear to step out in public without their make-up on, Katie Holmes proves that she can.


The 33-year-old star was spotted arriving at a dance class in Hollywood yesterday and didn't dress up for the cameras.


Showing off her bare but flawless complexion, Holmes certainly looked younger than her age.

The actress was wearing her black leotard that was visible underneath the stripey off-the-shoulder jumper she wore which she teamed with a pair of bootcut jeans.

The mother-of-one wore her long dark hair in a loose wave and carried a large pink notebook and a bottle of water - no doubt to keep her hydrated during her session.

It is the second time in a week that Holmes has been seen going to her dance class - proving that she is keen to stay in shape.

When the Batman Begins star later emerged, she had tied her long hair back after working up a sweat, and was grinning from ear to ear.

She has obviously put the bad reviews of her latest movie far behind her and is attempting to focus on her future career.

Jack And Jill, the new Adam Sandler comedy, was released in November last year and has been slated by critics.

Katie plays Sandler's wife Erin in the film, which also stars Al Pacino and David Spade, but no doubt it's a role that she would rather forget about now.

Perhaps the actress has taken up the dancing class in order to pass the time, as she currently has no upcoming films in the pipeline and with her five-year-old daughter Suri at school, her days must be rather quiet.
