Lindsay Lohan moves out of plush beach pad: weeks after a man is arrested for trespass

She has only lived there for a year but Lindsay Lohan has decided to move out of her posh Venice Beach home, it has been claimed.

A moving van was seen outside the 25-year-old's house yesterday.

It comes just weeks after a man was arrested for refusing to leave her front door on January 1.

According to TMZ.com the actress has now moved across town into the plush Chateau Marmont Hotel, located just off the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

The New Year's Day incident could be seen as the latest in a string of bad omens to have occurred while the actress lived in the bohemian beach community.

The Mean Girls star moved into the Venice rental property last January after a stint in the Betty Ford Center, a drug and rehab clinic.

Just weeks after moving into the area Lohan was accused of stealing a necklace from a local jewellery store.

She was later charged with theft and with violating the terms of her probation from an earlier offence.

Lohan pleaded no contest to the charges and was sentenced to house arrest, made to wear a tracking device on her ankle and ordered to undergo random alcohol tests.

In June she was pictured hosting a party on the rooftop of her home.

She was still under house arrest at the time. Lohan also failed a random alcohol test during this period.

On New Year's Day a man called Lonnie Short was arrested outside her house after he demanded to talk to the actress and refused to leave her front door.

He later pleaded no contest to one misdemeanour count of trespassing.

Short was sentenced to 24 months probation and eight days in jail.

He was also slapped with a restraining order, preventing him from either contacting Lohan, or being within 100 yards of the actress or her home.

According to TMZ.com the actress has now moved out of the Venice property, put her things into storage and moved into the Chateau Marmont.

The hotel is a popular celebrity haunt. A SAG Awards after party was held there on Sunday night.

In 1982 comedian John Belushi died of a drug overdose in one of the hotel's bungalows.

According to one TMZ source the actress is thinking of relocating to her hometown of New York City once her probation term ends in March.
