Hair chameleon Rihanna, looked frightfully dressed down as she turned up for a sound check yesterday.

The singer performed at last night's Make It Right Foundation Gala in New Orleans hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and Brad Pitt.

But the usually glamorous 24-year-old wore an unflattering rehearsal ensemble consisted of a shapeless black coat with leather sleeves, black pants, and a large red and black ski cap.

However, according to her Twitter, the superstar wore something much prettier for the actual performance.

Billed as A Night to Make It Right, the star-studded, sold-out gala drew 1,200 guests who paid between $1,000 and $2,500 to attend a dinner prepared by New Orleans celebrity chefs John Besh and Emeril Lagasse, and a concert featuring Rihanna as well as Sheryl Crow, Seal, and Dr. John.

The line-up also included Hollywood luminaries and honorary hosts Sean Penn, Spike Lee, Josh Brolin and Kevin Spacey.

The We Found Love singer, last seen writhing in lingerie for a steamy Armani jeans ad, is constantly changing her hair color and styles.

On Wednesday, Rihanna tweeted a topless photo of herself on the set of a music video with her natural brunette hair color, but then she immediately went even blonder than she looked at the Grammys and BRIT awards.

While Rihanna was in London last week, The Sun reported that the Barbadian singer ruined her wavy blonde weave thanks to a dip in the hotel pool and sauna.
