At least she scrubs up well! Julianne Moore is worlds away from red carpet glamour on a New York walk

She may have dazzled on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, but Julianne Moore looked considerably less glamorous on a recent day out.

The actress sported a very casual outfit as she strolled down the street in New York.

She teamed a shiny silver puffa jacket with some brown tracksuit bottoms that had yellow stripes down the sides.

And the 51-year-old topped off the bizarre look with a black beanie, black gloves and some oversized sunglasses.

Despite wrapping up to protect herself against the cold weather, the Magnolia star was spotted grimacing as she took a walk around the Big Apple.

But she proved that she can scrub up well when she arrived at the Golden Globes over the weekend in a classic black strapless fishtail gown by Chanel.

She presented the Best Miniseries award to the Downton Abbey team at the ceremony, alongside the West Wing star Rob Lowe.

The duo experienced a slight technical glitch that saw their autocue fail before they announced the nominees.

After briefly ad-libbing, the pair were then handed a hard copy of their lines.

Moore recently underwent a transformation to star as Sarah Palin in upcoming made-for-television movie Game Change.

And a sneak peek of the trailer showed the 30 Rock actress delivering an uncanny performance of the former Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential candidate.

The HBO film is based on the book Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin and the Race of a Lifetime, by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, and will be directed by Austin Powers director Jay Roach.

It revolves around the 2008 general political election, and will premiere on the cable channel in March.

Moore has said that she became disgusted with how modern-day political campaigns are run while researching her role.

She told ABC News: 'So much is about how do you get on the air, how do you get the most media attention, how do you make the most noise.

'When, in fact, what we're all looking for is leadership. We don't want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us.'
