Kate Beckinsale channels her Underworld role Selene in skintight leather

She has been playing the role of vampire warrior Selene for the better part of a decade.

So it is no surprise that Kate Beckinsale feels right at home in skintight leather.

The 38-year-old actress, whose character does battle in an eye-watering head to toe suit, stepped out in a pair of leather trousers yesterday.

The English beauty, well known for her glamour-puss style offscreen, was being collected by a limo for a day of promotional duties in Los Angeles.

Kate is in the midst of press rounds for the latest film in the franchise Underworld: Amakening, which is released worldwide tomorrow.

Beckinsale teamed her provocative trousers with sky high heels and a simple black blazer.

The mother-of-one is doing double duty, also promoting her film Contraband, in which she stars with Mark Wahlberg.

The crime drama was released in the US last week and will be in UK cinemas in March.

Kate plays Kate Farraday, whose husband (Wahlberg) is a former smuggler who must protect her brother from a drug lord.

Kate looked more English rose than vamp earlier in the week when she made an appearance at The Grove in LA to film a segment on Extra.

And she was dressed to the nines to sashay down the red carpet for her presenting role at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

But it hasn't been all work this week for the actress. She took a night off with her husband, director Len Wiseman, to watch Stephen Merchant's stand-up gig in LA on Tuesday night.
