Courteney Cox takes the plunge in Marilyn Monroe-style dress as she films beach scenes

With her cleavage on display and wearing a dress that would make Marilyn Monroe proud, Courteney Cox looked every inch the glamour girl today.

The 47-year-old actress wore a white halterneck gown with a plunging neckline as she filmed scenes for her show, Cougar Town.

With her hair a mass of beach waves and her fingernails painted red the former Friends star looked like she had stepped out of another era.

The dress was reminiscent of the one Monroe wore in the 1955 comedy, The Seven Year Itch.

And while Cox is not as curvy as the blonde bombshell, she still managed to show off her shapely figure in her version of the dress.

While on the beach the mum-of-one looked at ease and offered no signs that she was uncomfortable.

But during a break in filming she was seen huddling up to her co-star, Josh Hopkins.

Cox covered her shoulders with a yellow pashmina and kept her feet warm in a pair of Ugg boots, while her he wore an overcoat on top of his suit.

The actress stars in the US sitcom about the love life of 40-something divorcee Jules Cobb.

In real life Cox is separated from her husband David Arquette. The couple have been married since 1999.

Despite their split the Scream stars are supportive of each other.
Arquette even welcomed his estranged wife to the world of Twitter when she joined the micro-blogging site last week.

The 40-year-old actor wrote: '@CourteneyCox Oh my goodness - It's a miracle.

'Welcome to twitter Courteney! Don't let the haters discourage you. There's a lot of love 4u.'

Cox said the couple's seven-year-old daughter Coco helped her get used to the site.

The actress has nearly 80,000 followers.
